Project architect Tamsin Green will lead a special behind-the-scenes tour of the project which links together two Victorian hoppers with a flowing roof creating a new floating upper storey and covered outdoor space. The evening tour will delve into details behind the design and construction of Coal Drops Yard and explore King’s Cross, an area that has been home to the celebrated architecture and design studio for nearly twenty years.

Starting at Granary Square, Tamsin will lead a tour that will explore places ranging in scale and character. The walk will conclude nearby Coal Drops Yard, the studio’s transformation of two historic coal drops buildings built in the 1850s into a new retail quarter and publicly accessible space.

Tamsin is currently the Project Leader for Coal Drops Yard, which opened to the public in October 2018. Since joining Heatherwick Studio in 2012, Tamsin has contributed to two major projects in Shanghai; 1000 Trees, a 300,000sqm mixed-use development located next to the M50 arts district, and the 400,000sqm Bund Finance Centre.
