Arshya is currently a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, working with JM architects and will be pursuing a master's degree in Architecture from the University of Bath. They have grown up moving from homes every few years, being born in Mumbai, and also having lived in a small town in Germany, Hong Kong, Manchester, Edinburgh and soon will be moving to London. This multicultural upbringing has given them a deep understanding of place, identity, and transition. They graduated from Manchester School of Architecture in 2023, and it was during this time at university where their academic work began to explore the intersections of culture, migration, and queerness in the built environment, particularly through the lens of policy. Arshya has also always been deeply involved with every community they have been a part of, having volunteered with the Whitworth Art Gallery and the Manchester Student Society of Architecture, as well as charities like Architecture Benevolent Society and Just Like Us. As a Young Trustee, they aim to contribute to more equitable conversations and champion emerging, underrepresented perspectives in the architectural field.
