Call for Artists and Designers: Blackhorse Lane Art Commission
The project has now issued an open call for designers and artists interested in being considered for a public art commission at Blackhorse Lane, which will result in a permanent piece of art on the gable wall of 6 Blackhorse Lane. Acting as a 'public welcome' to the area, it is envisaged that the final design will celebrate the industrial heritage of Waltham Forest and will draw attention to the rich history of making in the area.
The chosen artist will be selected through a two stage competitive process. This first open call stage, asks creatives interested in the commission to submit a portfolio of relevant past experience along with a short text outlining their initial response to the brief. Following this a shortlist of three artists will be selected and asked to put forward concept propopsals for the artwork. One winner will then be selected to deliver the final piece.
