Author James Attlee will discuss the relationships between Matta Clark and Le Corbusier, and explore Anarchitecture's debt to the modernist architectural manifesto.
Sheffield University's Dr. Stephen Walker will speak on the Matta Clark's architectural background and legacy, with a focus upon his Fake Estates project as a point of departure.
Plus, contributions and discussion with Assemble, a not-for-profit collective of artists, designers and architects that initially came together to conceive, design, build and run the celebrated Cineroleum (July 2010), an acclaimed pilot project and temporary outdoor cinema that suggested potential possibilities for the re-use of the 4,000 empty petrol stations in the UK.

A number of pieces of furniture from the Cineroleum and prototypes from Assemble will also be on view in the Front Lower Gallery, throughout the evening.
The Barbican exhibition Laurie Anderson, Trisha Brown, Gordon Matta-Clark: Pioneers of the Downtown Scene, New York 1970s runs until 22 May 2011.
