Ten young people from Waltham Forest, Hackney, Haringey and Enfield were selected to take part in a programme exploring the relationship between water and architecture in the Upper Lee Valley. The project started on 17 June with a walking tour of the valley led by Levent Kerimol from Design for London and William Mann from Witherford Watson Mann architects. Between June-September, the group took part in a further nine workshops with filmmaker Verity Keefe, Photographer Daniel Hewitt, Architecture collective EXYZT, designers Studio Superniche and the Environment Agency. They met the Battersea Urban Pioneers for a web design workshop and travelled to Rotterdam to visit the Nederlands Architectuurinstituut to learn about waterfront developments in Holland.
