As part of an international design competition organised by The Architecture Foundation, a selection of entries to design a permanent yet flexible, free standing group of kiosks in Meridian Square were displayed at Stratford Old Town Hall as part of the London Design Festival.
Situated at the front of Stratford Regional Station and hosting a variety of uses, the kiosks will serve as key venues for information, orientation and services within the rapidly changing town centre.
Since 2009,the London Borough of Newham (LBN) has worked with Design for London at the London Development Agency (LDA) to deliver an ambitious programme of public realm works throughout the centre of Stratford with the aim of improving the quality of the town centre for those that live, work, and shop in the area, whilst also preparing to welcome the millions of visitors who will come to the area during 2012. This exhibition offered an opportunity to view the response of design talent to this dynamic area of London.
