Running from Aldgate to Stratford, High Street 2012 is the section of streets that stretch from Aldgate to Stratford and represents the last 6km of the London 2012 Olympic Marathon, as well as a wider streetscape and regeneration strategy and the historic gateway into the City.
High Street 2012 will play host to a series of activities, including in Stratford a new commission from critically-acclaimed Austrian architecture collective feld72 that will turn the High Street into an Olympics of the everyday, a skills exchange workshop by design collective Household and Sarah Melin, a (Temporary) Museum of Stratford, and opportunities to view the Olympic site in progress. Along the length of the High Street there is the chance to view interactive installations designed and built by international architecture students, to improve and celebrate London’s great high streets, whilst guided tours on historic Routemaster buses will navigate the area and expand upon its secrets. The weekend will also offer the opportunity to view the long-list for the AF organised New Landmark for Aldgate competition, and a one-off chance to visit Carmody Groarke's exclusive Studio East Dining outside of restaurant hours.

The LFA 2010 East Weekend is coordinated by The Architecture Foundation, with the kind support of London Borough of Newham, Design for London and Land Securities.
