The Centre Pompidou by Richard Rogers is one of the great projects of the latter part of the 20th Century. Whether it is seen as the first truly public high-tech building, the closest we got to building Cedric Price's Fun Palace or the freeform techno-megastructures of Archigram, or as the uncle of Bilbao, the Supercrit was a rare opportunity to hear firsthand the stories behind the project, put views to the original design team and to join the discussion.
The panel to which Richard Rogers presented the Centre Pompidou included critics David Greene (Archigram) and Rowan Moore as well as additional members of the original design and engineering team, including Gianfranco Franchini. The event was chaired by Paul Finch (Editor of The Architectural Review).
