KPF/AF Student Travel Award 2011 was the first exhibition to be displayed in the gallery space in Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates’ brand new London office in Covent Garden.
Taking advantage of the generous, high-ceilinged spaces, the ground floor of the KPF office was converted into a multi-functional space with a reception and receiving area for clients and also the potential to stage exhibitions, talks, entertain clients and open up the space for various cultural occasions.
The exhibition displayed the 2011 shortlisted students’ entries, based on the theme of Work/Life Patterns of the Future, with a special focus on the first and second prize projects by Holly Hayward and Ben Reynolds. Entrants were asked to demonstrate outstanding insight into patterns of how we live and work and how this is affected or informed by building/urban space design.
Exhibition Launch
Both students presented their winning ideas and findings of their research trips at the exhibition launch on the 24 October, 6.30pm. The exhibition, which also contained work by 5 other commended students, was then be open to the public for a further month.
