'New Architects 2: a guide to Britain's best young architectural practices', the second publication in the New Architects series, was considered to be the definitive guide to emerging UK architecture practices. The British architectural scene was then lively and diverse , and yet it was still hard for young practices to gain significant commissions. This current edition showcased 67 practices selected by a jury, representing a new generation of talent.

The competition jury was comprised of nine members including Tony Hunt, Anthony Hunt & Associates (Chair); Paul Finch, CABE Commissioner; Nigel Coates, Branson Coates Architects; Amanda Baillieu, Editor, RIBA journal; James Ritblat, Chief Executive, Delancey; Sir Terence Conran, Conran and Partners; Tania Concko, Tania Concko Architects; Louisa Hutton, Sauerbruch Hutton Architects; and Prof Isi Metzstein, Edinburgh.

Featuring introductory texts from Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, Sir Stuart Lipton (Chairman, CABE), Deyan Sudjic (Editor, Domus), Lord Rogers (AF Founding Chair) and Will Alsop (AF Chair), this book not only served as a reference for clients, advisors and urban planners but also as a resource to inspire readers and celebrate the value of high-quality contemporary architecture.

Supported by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and sponsored by Delancey Estates, New Architects 2 gave an overview of the architecture scene in the UK and was a key reference for commissioning new public and private sector projects.
Organised by practice from A-Z, New Architects 2 provided:

- Information on how to get the most out of the client/architect relationship
- Contact details of each practice
- Independent expert assessments of each practice
- Colour illustrations of recent projects
