Architects were challenged to outline their vision of the inner city of the future in a competition launched by the AF. Six architects were invited and four finalists were selected from the open competition. Their task was to draw plans for a high-density development of 500 residential units on a 2 ha site at Bishopsgate, London. Designs that would provide affordable, environmentally friendly homes in the future, flexible in order to combine living and working space.
