Exhibition: Public Space

20 March - 28 April 1996

  • Exhibition Interior

The second in the series of exhibitions which accompanied the monthly London in the 21st Century debates, Public Space looked at ideas for London’s Royal Parks, then controversial proposals for Trafalgar Square, and designs for public art in London Docklands.

Schemes by architects Terry Farrell, Norman Foster, Allies & Morrison, landscape designers Groupe Signes and Gibberd Design, and artists Richard Wentworth and Pierre Vivante, provided a cross-section of challenging ideas for London’s civic spaces.
