Home Sweet Home

22 December 1996 - 2 January 1997

  • The exhibition at The Architecture Foundation

Home Sweet Home was a fantastical three-dimensional drawing in light, depicting familiar household elements and objects: steps, a table and chairs.

The exhibition offered an intriguing take on domesticity (or the lack thereof) in the transitory big city, and gave form to the way an architect designs spaces on a computer, using bright lines on a dark background. As exhibitor Francesco Draisci put it, the ghostly objects exist 'only in your imagination'. The lines of the drawing were made of decidedly low-tech mohair wool lit by UV light, the fluffiness giving the drawings their 'imperfect' wavy lines.
