Generated by the Matthew Architecture Gallery in Edinburgh, the exhibition focused on the work being carried out by an emerging generation of architects from Dublin and Edinburgh and contained a mixture of small experimental projects: rooms, houses, public buildings and urban design proposals.
The around 20 practices exhibited showed an awareness of their cities’ positions on the fringes of Europe and of the different roles of architects in both cities. Although opportunities for young architects are rare within the historical fabric of these two cities, several of the exhibited architects had already attracted international attention with successes in international competitions.
