Volunteers needed to help build the 2019 Antepavilion

We are looking for people to help build the Potemkin Theatre

All throughout June we will be building the Antepavilion on the roof of Hoxton Docks and we need a team of volunteers to work with the architects and their team to get the pavilion ready for its huge summer launch party and accompanying summer programme of events.

Maich Swift won the Antepavilion Commission in March 2019 and since then have been working to develop the design with engineers from AKT II and the client team. Now they are getting ready for the build, which will last 3-4 weeks from the beginning of June.

We are looking for 3 - 4 volunteers each week, who can ideally commit to at least 1 full week on site. Shifts will be during the day on weekdays.

You will be working in a team to build a structure out of pre-cut timber pieces. You will be using drills, staining wood, nail/ staple guns and possibly sawing down some timbers. The architects will be leading the build and there will also be a number of experienced makers on the team to help less experienced volunteers who are willing to learn!
