The Architecture Foundation’s Young Network is excited to announce an open call for a new cohort of Young Trustees to lead the next stage of its development. The Young Trustees are a core component of the Architecture Foundation's governance and lead the AF's network of volunteers, comprising a group of young practitioners and students with an interest in shaping the discourse surrounding architecture in London.

The role involves working with the AF’s core staff team on a variety of established and new initiatives and plays an increasingly crucial role in the foundation's programme. It is defined by those who wish to take it on. Candidates should be energetic and engaged, with ideas to pursue and a commitment to inclusiveness. Alongside developing a new programme, the new team will be responsible for continuing to establish the Young Network as a tangible platform for others to engage with.

Applications must be received by 22nd July. There will be an opportunity for you to meet the current team on 11th July and ask questions or get feedback on your ideas. You can find out more about the current Young Trustees here.

Launch Event

The launch event will be a meet and greet with the current Young Trustees, taking place at Diddy's Bar on the 11th July. Let us know you're coming here!

We would like to recruit Trustees with a range of skills and interests, and have outlined suggested roles below. If you have a different skillset you feel would be of value please let us know in the application form.

Internal Communication

Takes responsibility for organising the group’s monthly meetings, taking minutes and feeding back to core AF team. Also responsible for checking the email inbox and adding any partnership opportunities to the agenda.

Volunteer/Network Coordination

Manages volunteering programme for core AF events. Responsible for publicising via email opportunities and events, as well as compiling and curating the monthly newsletter.

Social Media

Responsible for the curation of existing platforms (instagram and facebook). Content should include publicising new events, profiling young trustees/network members and their work alongside other inspirational people, and any additional content.

Responsible for the visual identity of AFYN communication across platforms (social media, newsletters, etc.), as well as at physical events.

Event Logistics

Manages the communication (via eventbrite) and delivery of events that are devised/programmed by the group. The role consists of maintaining relationships and a database of available spaces, alongside keeping track of any additional requirements such as refreshments and required volunteers etc.

The ambition is for the Young Network to become a self-sustaining entity in its own right. The Trustee focusing on funding will need to establish goals: what could money be spent on, how might this help to develop the programme, and devise ways to raise money to meet these goals through sponsorship, fundraising, events etc.
