Ponders End Open Call for Creatives

The Architecture Foundation, working with the London Borough of Enfield and Karakusevic Carson Architects, are looking to commission a team of creatives to help deliver a Pilot Meanwhile Project in Ponders End.

The AF would like to appoint a designer/architect, a graphic designer, a photographer and up to six designers to take part in this exciting project.

The Pilot Project will involve the transformation of an empty shop front into an welcoming multifunctional space fit for holding events, hosting a permanent display on the area’s history and heritage, and incubating a start-up business.  In addition The AF seeks to commission six designers to create bespoke Ponders End souvenirs celebrating key aspects of the area’s local history that will go on sale for the Pilot Project Shop.

We are looking for:

1. Designer/architect - to transform the vacant pilot premises.

2. Graphic designer - to carry out design work for the project’s exhibition and marketing material.

3. Photographer - to document the project and the souvenir commissions.

4. Up to six designers - to create souvenirs for Ponders End responding to key moments in the area’s history.

We welcome submissions from a broad range of designers and creatives and ask applicants to clearly outline which of the four opportunities they would most like to be considered for.

We ask designers to apply individually rather than as part of a consortium or team.  The AF reserves the right to commission designers for multiple commissions should this be appropriate.

Please download the open call document for full details.  Deadline for submission is 15 July, 10am. Shortlisted candidates may be interviewed if necessary.

In addition The AF is working with Enterprise Enfield to launch an open call for entrepreneurs who wish to take up residency in the Pilot Shop. Find out more here
