New permanent seating for Gibbon's Rent

The Architecture Foundation is delighted to welcome the addition of new permanent seating to our Gibbon's Rent transformation project. The eight new black Juno chairs, a generous donation from Italian design company Arper, will offer visitors to the 'secret garden' a place to sit, relax and socialise.

The first phase of the project, which was realised in 2012 in collaboration with Team London Bridge and Southwark Council, transformed a long forgotten cut through in Southwark into a green space for the local community to enjoy. The second phase will see further regeneration of the space through a commission by Rotterdam-based architecture office Superuse Studios, who will design two permanent gateway structures created from materials harvested within Greater London to be launched later this year.
