Beatrice Galilee to Chair '5th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam: Making City & Atelier Istanbul'

The Architecture Foundation is delighted to announce that Beatrice Galilee, Curator of the forthcoming 2013 Lisbon Architecture Triennale, will chair the imminent event, '5th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam: Making City & Atelier Istanbul', in our Southwark Project Space, on Tuesday 13 March at 7pm.

Joined by Joachim Declerck (Co-Curator of the 5th IABR: Making City; Program Director of Architecture Workroom Brussels; Coordinator of Atelier Istanbul) and Dirk Sijmons (Partner of H+N+S Landscape Architects, Design Office in Atelier Istanbul; former Governmental Advisor on Landscape), this engaging event will focus on one of the key projects of the 5th IABR, Atelier Istanbul. Exploring the Biennale’s working methods as both a cultural operator and a platform for research and development; collaborating with cities on concrete social and spatial challenges to effect lasting urban development by connecting disciplines, sectors and public and private stakeholders through design, research and a process of international debate and reflection.

Plus, Jamie Dean (Design for London), Joost Beunderman (00:/) and Debbie Whitfield (New London Architecture) will be in attendance, acting as respondents to the evening’s discussions and exploring the idea of the 'future city'.

Doors will open at 6.30pm with drinks served. The talk will take place from 7 - 8.30pm.
