The AF is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant from The Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, for the continuation of its celebrated Architecture + Art programme.
The original five part series of talks took place in 2009 at Tate Modern to capacity audiences, and featured conversations between Steven Holl and Vito Acconci, Teddy Cruz and Pedro Reyes, Elmgreen & Dragset and Jamie Fobert, Edi Rama and Anri Sala, and Adam Caruso and Thomas Demand. Video recordings of the entire series can be watched online on the AF website, here.
The series will return in 2012 involving a diverse range of the world's most significant artists, architects, urbanists and thinkers – foregrounding shared and parallel conceptual approaches, built structures, and strategies that situate themselves outside or across received boundaries of 'architecture' and 'art', as well as a critical exploration of the instrumentalization of architecture and art for urban regeneration.
