The AF contracted to organise New Holland Island competition

A delegation of representatives from top international architectural bureaus completed one of several planned working visits to the island of New Holland in St Petersburg last weekend, the first step in an international competition to gather design ideas for the future development of the site and preservation of its architectural heritage. The visit was organised by the Iris Foundation, which is acting as the creative operator on behalf of New Holland Development ("NHD", a Millhouse group company).

The Architecture Foundation has been contracted by the Iris Foundation to organise the invitation-only competition. Participants include architectural practices from Russia, Western Europe and the United States. They have been asked to submit conceptual master-plan proposals that will be used to inform future development plans for New Holland, in collaboration with artistic and technical consultants of their choice.
