The AF, wherever and whenever possible, video records its events for archival purposes and for hosting online on the AF website, for greater distribution of its programme of activities – internationally and for perpetuity.
Typically these events average at around 90 minutes in length, and are held both at the AF’s own Project Space and rooftop Skyroom, and also at the venues of our institutional partners, such as the Barbican, Tate Modern and the V&A.
We are currently looking for a new filmmaker to take on this role in an ongoing relationship with the AF, following the departure from the UK of our current videographer.
Each video typically consists of the following:
- Video recording the live event (c.90minutes, ideally in HD)
- Importing and editing footage, adjusting/fixing sound etc, fixing brightness where needed.
- Editing into footage title-cards, sur-titles of speakers’ names, images from PowerPoint presentations and similar.
- Providing the AF with a compressed version of the film for hosting on Vimeo, and a full resolution DVD copy for archival purposes.
Examples of the AF’s videos to date can be found on our Vimeo channel: http://vimeo.com/theaf/videos
Below is an example of how these videos are used on our website:

As a public charity, our budgets are quite limited for this documentation. We are now looking for competitive tenders from filmmakers, to take on an ongoing filmmaking role for the AF. We look forward to hearing from you with a quote for your services, should this post be of interest.
Please contact Sarah Trounce, Office Manager on +44(0)20 7084 6767 or email trounce[at]architecturefoundation.org.uk if you are interested in tendering.
