Nandi Marshal Han of Manchester School of Architecture has been announced as the winner of this year's Student Travel Award sponsored by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). Now in its 6th year, the award supports the industry's emerging talent by encouraging new creative thinking and engagement in international research.
Nandi, who is studying at a Part II level won first prize for his submission ‘Urbanisation and Public Space in Holy City, Lhasa'. He will receive a bursary of £1,250 to fund further research through travel to Tibet, as well as a summer work placement at KPF's office in London.
Philip Turner, a student at Newcastle University was awarded the second prize of £1,000 plus a work placement. His project was entitled ‘Palate's Palace - Designing for Uncertainty'. His proposed travel location is Beijing.
