The Norwegian architectural practice PUSHAK has won a competition to create an installation for The Architecture Foundation on Tooley Street, SE1, to be launched in June 2010 at the London Festival of Architecture.
The installation, part of the Architecture Foundation's international exchange programme, will feature a spectacular undulating moss landscape. It is expected to be one of the highlights of the London Festival of Architecture and will run from the 19th June to the 6th August 2010. PUSHAK's approach to design is based on understanding local conditions such as climate and available natural and human resources. Based on these principles, PUSHAK's installation takes its inspiration from one of the focus areas of this year's Festival - the Bankside Urban Forest.
Elias Redstone, Senior Curator at The Architecture Foundation commented "PUSHAK's installation represents the high quality of work being produced by young architects in Norway and shows a keen awareness of local issues. The architects are taking a critical stance about activating our cities, at the same time as creating a welcoming environment for Londoners and visitors to the London Festival of Architecture."

We hope that our interpretation of the local environment will create a surprising experience of nature in the urban landscape and will inspire visitors to become their own urban gardeners."
PUSHAK's installation is the official Norwegian participation of the International Architecture Showcase, partnership between the British Council and the Architecture Foundation at London Festival of Architecture 2010. It was made possible through the sponsorship of the Royal Norwegian Embassy, and the support of Jackson Coles.
