Following the advertisment of an open call for applicants, the Architecture Foundation board of trustees has appointed three new members: Kevin Carmody, co-founder of Carmody Groarke Architects; Faaiza Lalji, Director of Planning and Development at Precis Advisory; and Manijeh Verghese, Head of Public Engagement at the Architectural Association. The board comprises eleven trustees and is chaired by Jamie Fobert, founder of Jamie Fobert Architects.
About the new trustees
Kevin Carmody
Kevin founded Carmody Groarke Architects with Andy Groarke in 2006 after they had worked together at David Chipperfield Architects. The practice's Windermere Jetty Museum was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2021. Current projects include Design Museum Gent and accommodation for 2000 London School of Economics students on a site adjacent to Tate Modern.
Faaiza Lalji
Since 2012, Faaiza has served as Director of Planning and Development at Precis Advisory, a London-based development firm, where she leads on the residential-led mixed use and life sciences portfolios. She holds an MDes in Real Estate and Built Environment from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Faaiza has worked with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, including for the Museum, and is a member of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Advisory Council.
Manijeh Verghese
Manijeh is Head of Public Engagement at the Architectural Association where she is also a Diploma Unit Master. Additionally, she works on independent curatorial projects through her practice SPHERE, such as the South Asia Gallery for the Manchester Museum in partnership with the British Museum, where she is interested in connecting and empowering people to shape their cities and spaces. She co-curated the British Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021 and presently serves as one of the Mayor of London's Design Advocates.
