Around the world campaigners, cities, institutions and governments are declaring a state of emergency in response to climate change. In this unprecedented moment, a question for architects and urban practitioners is cast into relief: how should architecture respond in this time of ecological emergency?
This event at the Barbican explored the intersection of the climate emergency and architecture with speakers including Mariam Aslam from Extinction Rebellion, Guy Shubsole from Friends of the Earth, ROTOR, The climate lawyer Farhana Yamin, Oslo Triennale curator Maria Smith and comedian Matt Winning among many others.
